Nathan Schneider Gavenski

My PhD project is focused on creating agents that learn from others by observing. By observing others perform a task, an agent might peak up social queues and act more like us. My research interests are centred on how agents can learn more about their environment and we can create agents that will behave more like humans. I am also interested in finding ways to evaluate artificial intelligence and, therefore, understand the limitations of different methods, and approach each research with a deeper understanding of how to improve current works.

I chose to apply for the STAI CDT because I was interested in the program’s different training modules and how the CDT organises its cohorts. I see a lot of value in having peers with so many different backgrounds and sharing each other’s work.
