In my PhD I am trying to combine subsymbolic (e.g. neural networks) and symbolic AI techniques. This hopefully will lead to creating more robust AI that has strong generalisability. I chose the CDT because I want to become an academic in AI and do fundamental AI research; and I am pleased that I chose the CDT because the research is incredibly interesting and having a cohort is great experience!
Prior to joining the CDT for my PhD, I gained research experience as part of both my BSc and MSc theses. I also worked as a research intern at University of British Columbia.
