STAI CDT PhD students Elfia Bezou-Vrakatseli and Madeleine Waller edited the recently published fourth volume of The Online Handbook of Argumentation for AI (OHAAI).
OHAAI is a curation of selected peer-reviewed papers summarising (ongoing) PhD work on Argumentation in AI, published as an annual online Open Access handbook. OHAAI is designed to serve as a research hub to keep track of the latest and upcoming PhD-driven research on the theory and application of argumentation in all areas related to AI. The online handbook encourages collaboration and knowledge discovery between members of the argumentation community.
Being both organisers and editors of the OHAAI has provided Elfia and Madeleine the opportunity to build their peer-reviewing and editing skills, as well as network and share knowledge with their PhD colleagues in the field of argumentation. They said, “We are excited that the fourth volume of OHAAI is now available, showcasing the latest and upcoming PhD-driven research on argumentation. This year, the topics that prevailed are Explainable AI and Responsible AI. Crafting this volume has been a creative and rewarding experience, enriching our appreciation for the complexity of current research in the field”.
Excitingly, two tutorials of OHAAI have been accepted at the following upcoming conferences:
- ‘An Introduction to Computational Argumentation’ at the third International Conference on Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence (HHAI24). Organisers: Elfia Bezou-Vrakatseli, Daphne Odekerken and Andreas Xydis
- ‘Play and Persuade: An interactive exploration of argumentation’ at the 27th Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI24). Organisers: Elfia Bezou-Vrakatseli and Madeleine Waller
