What do young people want from the world of the future? How do their hopes and fears intersect with safe and trusted artificial intelligence?

To find out, Mackenzie Jorgensen, from the 2020 cohort of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Safe and Trusted Artificial Intelligence, took part in King’s College London’s (KCL) Utopia Now Day. At this event, KCL researchers met with young creative writers from our neighbouring London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

Mackenzie provided an AI researcher’s perspective on the positive and negative aspects of technology. Read her reflection on the themes of the workshop here: One day in 2070… when academics and young writers imagine the future together.
